The more research I do, the more similarities I find.
I’m going to continue to post these items under the Category “Connection or Coincidence.” Are these random coincidences or clear connections the killers are leaving?

Protect yourself. Protect your friends. Protect your sons.
Please pass this information on….
* Keep your drink with you. We have evidence that the victims are being drugged.
* If a stranger buys you a drink, make sure you see the bartender make it.
* It is safest to order your drink from the bar where you can watch it being made.
* Don’t let your intoxicated friends walk home or back to campus alone.
* If you had plans to leave with a friend and you can’t find him at bar close, don’t go anywhere until you know where he is. If you can’t find him, call police and campus security.

Josh Szostak was last seen on a surveillance camera outside an Albany, NY bar. It was December 23, 2007. In a matter of minutes, Josh went from standing calmly talking to a friend to ripping his own hoodie and shirt off, falling to his knees and struggling to stand up. He stumbled down the block and disappeared. Despite the other surveillance cameras posted in Albany, a police officer wrote in a report that Josh was not seen on any others. His body surfaced in the Hudson River in April 2008.

Bill Szostak
Josh’s case was closed and his drowning was ruled accidental before the toxicology results were complete. Josh’s dad, Bill Szostak decided to do what no parent should have to do – investigate his own child’s death. Bill, a former arson investigator, analyzed the water recovery photos and requested all police files. Bill also founded a non-profit.

Bill is motivated by his son’s own words. Josh was a writer and a published poet. He had “Family Above All” written on his steering wheel. When he died, the Szostak family knew the words belonged on Josh’s tombstone. Bill has evidence that his son’s death was not accidental. Bill’s mission is to give his son justice and to ensure the safey of your sons and mine.

The name “Smiley Face Killers” came from ex-NYPD, Kevin Gannon’s theory that a group of killers was leaving graffiti of smiley faces at the scenes of the drownings. This detail was first revealed in April 2008 in my KSTP report. Click here to watch the initial investigation on KSTP.
The graffiti is found everywhere and isn’t going to help law enforcement take these cases seriously. I do have a graffiti section on this site to give people a place to post their pictures.

Kristi Piehl and Bill Szostak are revealing new evidence and sharing important details that every young man and parent should hear. It’s the first time either of them have talked publicly about their investigation.
On February 21, Kristi will provide a news update on the late night national show, Coast to Coast (click to find out which of your local radio stations carry the show).
Bill will share compelling new clues in his son’s case and expose the inadequacy of the Albany, NY Police investigation.
Bill and Kristi spent Friday afternoon on a conference call with Brandon Pender. They are strategizing to make sure they reveal the most powerful evidence without jeopardizing future court cases. Pender has a rare and helpful combination – media savvy and a law enforcement background.

I frequently get letters and emails from Canadians who believe there is a connection between the American drowning deaths of young men and the disappearances of young Canadian men.
Right now, there is a public push for a police investigation into the disappearances of young healthy men from B.C. Investigators say they have not found any connections between the 22 men who have vanished. The men are similar in age, appearance and their families say they had a lot to live for. The young men fit the profile of the American drowning victims. However, the Canadian men have not been found.
I stumbled onto a Canadian woman’s blog. She is keeping track of the cases and has pictures and details of the missing men.
